My research interest emerged since I would like to make visible the invisible aspects from ecosystems (those tangible and/or intangible contributions), through the ecosystem service approach as a fundamental tool (an integrative framework) that possess multiple disciplines (from both biophysical and social sciences). My research activity is focused on mapping ecosystem services tradeoffs from providing units to beneficiaries considering different methods. Based on scientific literature, spatial databases, participatory techniques and the outputs from a process-based ecosystem model I develop the quantification and mapping of ecosystem services to assess the different tradeoffs. From a regional (Andalusia region) to a broad-scale, nowadays I develop my research in the Mediterranean basin’s agro-ecosystems considering different drivers of change. I currently work as a Phd student at the Institute Méditerranéen de Biodiversité et d’Ecologie marine et continentale (IMBE) in the Aix Marseille Université affiliated to the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) within the project “Operational Potential of Ecosystem Research Applications" (OPERAs).
