Lake Allos (Southern Alps)

Cumulative effects of climate change and human activities have already resulted in major changes in physico-chemistry and biological communities of many lakes.

Therefore, understanding complex interactions between aquatic systems, climate and watershed dynamics is a key point to improve conservation strategies.

Palaeolimnological studies allow investigation of lake ecosystem responses (progressive changes, abrupt regime shits) with regard to natural and anthropogenic disturbances over long timescales.

My researches use two main approaches to reconstruct past lake trajectories including the study of (1) aquatic bioindicators assemblages (diatoms and ostracods) and (2) palaeohydrology using oxygen isotope records.
