Holder of a doctorate (PhD) in sedimentary and environmental dynamics of the University of Science of Lille since 2003, I was able during my thesis to develop a double paleoecological competence, including entomology (Diptera, chironomids) and palynology. Cross-correlation between subfossil chironomids, pollen and sedimentary data allowed to reconstruct holocene sea level, landscape, river dynamics and climate conditions on the Saint-Omer basin (Strait of Dover, northern France).
I am lecturer at the Aix-Marseille University since 2007, in the Mediterranean Institute for marine and terrestrial biodiversity and ecology (IMBE). During the last 10 years, I investigated many sedimentary records over the norther hemisphere and thus along an altitudinal/latitudinal gradient from coastal to boreo-alpine areas such as : Strait of Dover, Brittany, Malta Island, Danube delta, French Massif Central, Iran and Quebec. The common and main goal of all these studies was to decouple anthropic from natural environmental forcing (river, marine and climate processes), in order to best understand in fine the impacts of local and global changes on the biodiversity.
