data-end=\"458\">Biofertiliser made from fermented forest litter<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong data-start=\"225\" data-end=\"242\">(LiFoFer),<\/strong> is produced from forest litter<strong>\u00a0- <\/strong>in our case\u00a0<strong data-start=\"278\" data-end=\"293\">white oak<\/strong> collected from the Sainte-Victoire massif - mixed with <strong data-start=\"357\" data-end=\"384\">agricultural by-products<\/strong> (whey, molasses, wheat bran).<\/p><p data-start=\"222\" data-end=\"458\">Production involves two stages:<\/p><\/div><\/div><ol><li data-start=\"463\" data-end=\"586\"><strong data-start=\"463\" data-end=\"486\">Solid fermentation<\/strong> 1 month at room temperature (between 15\u00b0c and 25\u00b0C) in the absence of oxygen, followed by a <strong data-start=\"530\" data-end=\"551\">cold storage<\/strong> for several months or years<\/li><li data-start=\"590\" data-end=\"694\"><strong data-start=\"590\" data-end=\"631\">Activation before agricultural application<\/strong> culture submerged with a little molasses for 1 week<\/li><\/ol><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2311-5637\/12\/1\/52\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This study<\/a>, published in the journal <em>Fermentation<\/em>,is the result of collaboration between the teams\u201c.\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imbe.fr\/en\/recherche\/equipes-de-recherche\/biologie-evolution-et-ecologie-moleculaires-beem-2\/\">Molecular Biology, Evolution and Ecology<\/a>\u201c, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imbe.fr\/en\/recherche\/equipes-de-recherche\/equipe-chimiometrie-plan-dexperiences-systemes-experts\/\">CHImiometry, Design of experiments, Expert systems<\/a>\u201dand the Technical Department\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imbe.fr\/en\/techniques\/pole-chimie\/service-analyses-chimiques-pour-lecologie\/\">Chemical Analysis for Ecology<\/a>\u201c.<\/p><p>Sophie Nafil (BUT student), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imbe.fr\/en\/annuaire\/lucie-miche\/\">Lucie Mich\u00e9<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imbe.fr\/en\/annuaire\/loris-cagnacci\/\">Loris Cagnacci<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imbe.fr\/en\/annuaire\/martine-martinez\/\">Martine Martinez<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imbe.fr\/en\/annuaire\/pierre-christen\/\">Pierre Christen<\/a>, have assessed<strong> the effect of storage time<\/strong> (6, 18 and 30 months)<strong> and temperature<\/strong> (ambient vs 29\u00b0C) <strong>on the activation phase<\/strong>, This is achieved by monitoring the pH, the consumption of sugars and the production of metabolites, including lactic acid, which acts as a preservative for the bio-product and as a biological control agent (anti-fungal).<\/p><p data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"952\">The main results obtained are as follows<\/p><ul><li data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"952\">A <strong data-start=\"148\" data-end=\"205\">in-depth understanding of metabolic dynamics<\/strong> during the LiFoFer activation phase.<\/li><li data-start=\"248\" data-end=\"392\"><strong data-start=\"248\" data-end=\"288\">Identifying key parameters<\/strong> influencing the production and quality of the biofertiliser, paving the way for its future optimisation.<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1150\" data-end=\"1303\">This work, which is a must-see, provides a solid basis for <strong data-start=\"1200\" data-end=\"1300\">improve agricultural productivity and the stability of biofertilisers based
