To better understand its ecological interactions, this study compared its floral visitors to those of a more common plant in the same genus, <em>Teucrium flavum<\/em>.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s11258-026-01625-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Posted in Plant Ecology<\/a>, This work of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imbe.fr\/en\/annuaire\/claire-bouchot\/\">Claire Bouchot<\/a>,\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imbe.fr\/en\/annuaire\/laurence-affre\/\">Laurence Affre <\/a>, Cl\u00e9ment Beaumont , <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imbe.fr\/en\/annuaire\/gabriel-neve\/\">Gabriel N\u00e8ve<\/a> and Beno\u00eet Geslin, highlights a <strong>strong differentiation of pollinator communities<\/strong> between the two plants:<\/p><ul><li><em>T. p. purpurascens<\/em> is visited by a high diversity of pollinating insects (Hymenoptera, Diptera, Lepidotera and Coleoptera).<\/li><li><em>T. flavum<\/em> is mainly foraged by bees, a more specialised community.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Both plants also have <strong>distinct floral appeal strategies<\/strong> :<\/p><ul><li><em>T. p. purpurascens<\/em> produces many small flowers rich in highly concentrated nectar, attracting a guild of small, short-tongued bees.<\/li><li><em>T. flavum<\/em> on the other hand, offers fewer, larger flowers with more abundant and less concentrated nectar, attracting large, long-tongued bees.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>So, despite their phylogenetic proximity, these two species illustrate contrasting ecological strategies, shaping distinct pollination networks in the same environment.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element
