2018 Imbe project

IMBE is working on the new quiquennal contract starting from 2018.
Global ecology must remain at the heart of IMBE scientific project and the new organization tends towards more clarity and simplicity.

Since january 2018, the IMBE has been structured into seven major teams :

Seven major teams

1 Palaeo-environments and macro-ecological processes (PPM)
2 Origin and evolution of biodiversity (OEB)
3 Ecological vulnerability and conservation (VEC)
4 Natural and cultural heritage restoration engineering (IRPNC)
5 Molecule diversity and functioning in ecosystems (DFME)
6 Biomarkers, environment and health (BEH)
7 Environmental biotechnology and chemometrics for biodiversity promotion (BEC)

To promote the emergence of global ecology, scientific exchanges and research work will be mobilised within the unifying specialisms that will overlap with the problems studied by several teams.

Ten unifying themes

  • TF1 : Socio-ecological systems in the Mediterranean basin and in Asia : past, present and future (coord. V. Andrieu-Ponel, V. Baldy, W. Cramer)
  • TF2 : Dynamics and stability of ecological systems face to global change (coord. C. Fernandez, R. Gros, A.M. Farnet)
  • TF3 : Climate, global change, adaptation and resilience of living organisms (coord. A. Chenuil, A. Ereskovsky, M. LeBris, E. Renard)
  • TF4 : Environmental repair research (coord. A. Bischoff, R. Gros, H. Folzer)
  • TF5 : Landscapes, biological continuities and biotic interactions (coord. B. Geslin, L. Affre, C. Albert, A. Baumel, F. Guiter, A. Saatkamp)
  • TF6 : From naturalistic knowledge to functional and evolutionary mechanisms (and vice versa) (coord. A. Chenuil, E. Renard, A. Saatkamp, T. Gauquelin, A. Baumel)
  • TF7 : Farming systems, agricultural practices, biodiversity. Which interactions over time ? (coord. V. Andrieu-Ponel, M. Rault, A. Bondeau)
  • TF8 : Anthropocene and Health (coord. PH Villard, I. Gaime-Perraud, T. Orsière)
  • TF9 : Diversity and contributions of biomonitoring (coord. A. Thiery, P. Ponel, A. Chenuil)
  • TF10 : Naturality and biodiversity : From perception to management (coord. T. Gauquelin, A. Baumel)

Beyond the scientific organization and structuring of the unit in terms of research support, "Identifying clusters” will also be set up.
