Titre : Characterization of biogenic volatile organic compound (BVOC) emissions from seagrass beds as defense compounds in a context of climate change

Contexte : Seagrasses, one of the most valuable coastal ecosystems, are increasingly threatened by climate change. My thesis (2026-2028) examines their response to climate-related stresses (rising sea temperatures, marine heatwaves, and changes in seasonality) with a focus on biogenic volatile organic compound (BVOC) fluxes. Integrating in situ sampling, mesocosm experiments, and advanced chemical analytical techniques is designed to uncover BVOC dynamics and their ecological roles in these marine ecosystems.
