PSF CHEMMANGO (Contribution of chemical ecology to knowledge of the functioning of the mangrove ecosystem in Vietnam)

The third edition of the Structuring Training Project (Projet Structurant de Formation or PSF in French) CHEMMANGO 2022 (Contribution of chemical ecology to knowledge of the functioning of the mangrove ecosystem in Vietnam) took place from 15 to 23 October 2024 at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH), bringing together 8 Masters and PhD students (Truong Quoc Thanh,  Francisco Rodrigues do Amaral, Pauline Martinot, Juliette Pénicaud,  Adrien Garinet, Nguyen Thi Dieu Hoang, Phan Thi Kim Tâm, Kimyeun Oeurn) from various higher education institutions in Hanoi. The main objective of CHEMMANGO is to strengthen local training and research capacity in chemical ecology, a rapidly growing discipline dedicated to the study of ecological interactions under the control of chemical mediations and an interdisciplinary field of science for sustainable development.

The school’s program included theoretical courses, practical laboratory exercises and field work in the mangroves of the Red River Delta. The training school was jointly organised by members of the Institut Méditerranéen de Biodiversité et d’Ecologie (IMBE, anne.bousquet-melou@imbe.fr) and members of the 3 Vietnamese partner universities in this project (Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE), University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH, nguyen-thanh.hien@usth.edu.vn) and Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, University of Science (HCM-US).
