As a student at the Faculty of Sciences of Montpellier, I was able to do a internship at the OPIE (Office Pour les Insectes et leur Environnement) in Carrières-Sous-Poissy in August 2020. Wishing to know more about scientific research, I did an internship in archaeobiology during July 2021 on the site of IVth century B.C. Roman villa at the CNRS (Centre National de Recherche Scientifique). Finally, the themes of biodiversity and scientific ecology represent a major stake, which is why for the last three years I have been a member of the Board of Directors of the Écologistes de l’Euzière.
During my fisrt year of master - CEPAGE (Chrono Environnement & PAléo-écoloGiE) - I did a internship in Quebec (2021-2022), at the « Forêt d’Enseignement et de Recherche du Lac Duparquet » under the supervision of Adam A. Ali and Marianne Vogel.
The aim of my first-year Master’s internship in Quebec was to study the Holocene history of the paleo-islands of proglacial Lake Ojibway by analyzing lake sediment micro-charcoal.
During my second year of master , I did a internship in Sweden (at SLU, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) with Igor Drobyshev.
The aim of my second-year Master’s internship was to study the dynamics of forest fires in Jokkmokk (northern Sweden) over 1000 years, in relation to soil moisture, climate and human activity. At the end of my internship, I was able to demonstrate that sites with a high percentage of dry soil around the GPS point of the sample burned more often, even though all the sampling sites were dry. I was also able to take part in the LIFE Taiga project.
My internships abroad enabled me to explore not only other landscapes, but also other issues and research methods. Both of my Masters internships focused on forest fires in their respective countries.

MILLENNIAL DYNAMICS OF THE FUNCTIONAL DIVERSITY OF PLANT COMMUNITIES IN RESPONSE TO FIRE IN THE MEDITERRANEAN
My doctorate will be co-supervised by Bérangère Leys and Cécile Albert and will be part of the projet MEDITATION (MEDIterranean plant TrAit distribuTION and long-term functional diversity dynamics : a fire prone system).
The aim of this thesis is to study the functional diversity of Mediterranean plants and to better understand and assess the vulnerability of these communities to changes in fire regimes. Five study sites will be compared : Etang des Aulnes, Etang du Pourra, Tourves, Cavallo and Pantelleria. Fire dynamics will be reconstructed using microcharcoal samples. Vegetation dynamics and functional diversity will be reconstructed using pollen analyses. Sedimentary analyses will also be carried out (XRF). Other analyses are planned.
