The UMR (unit of research) 7362 - IMBE is part of the Observatory of Sciences of the Universe Pythéas, and for this reason, the institute has access to the scientific diving department of this OSU.
It is one of the joint services of the Mixed Unit of Service (UMS 3470) of Pythéas which has in charge all the activities requiring interventions in diving for research and teaching.
The qualified IMBE’s personnel (CAH and CPS) is also allowed to organize missions in all the seas, under the condition they observe everywhere the regulations in force in France. The missionaries must however subject themselves to more restrictive rules if they are those of the country in which they work.
