Mes travaux de recherche sont centrés sur les substances naturelles bioactives, avec la recherche de la valorisation des métabolites secondaires ou spécialisés issus de la biodiversité végétale. Je me positionne au sein de l’IMBE dans l’axe Environnement et Santé.
Cette recherche de substances naturelles bioactives issues de la biodiversité végétale s’effectue par deux voies :
–  la démarche ethnopharmacologique, qui permet de mettre en relation les savoirs ancestraux des médecines traditionnelles et de leurs pharmacopées avec les connaissances scientifiques actuelles.
–  l’écologie chimique, qui étudie le langage chimique permettant aux organismes vivants, par le biais de médiateurs chimiques à fort potentiel valorisable, de communiquer entre eux et avec leur environnement.
Ces deux sciences interdisciplinaires me permettent d’acquérir une expertise dans la chimie des substances naturelles et de mener divers travaux de recherche :
–  Etudes phytochimique et métabolomique grâce au service commun d’Ecologie chimique et métabolomique de l’IMBE afin d’identifier les métabolites secondaires ou spécialisés issus des plantes médicinales appartenant à diverses classes chimiques : terpènes, saponines, lactones sesquiterpéniques, alcaloïdes.
–  Développement de méthodes d’extraction et d’éco-extraction assistée par micro-ondes ou ultrasons (procédé respectueux de l’environnement), et d’isolement par fractionnement bioguidé, des métabolites spécialisés à potentiel valorisable, issus de la biodiversité végétale.
–  Mise au point et validation de méthodes analytiques par CLHP ou UCLHP afin d’établir des profils chimiques caractéristiques des extraits végétaux et de quantifier les molécules actives.
–  Suivi des tests pharmacologiques grâce à la collaboration étroite avec d’autres équipes de l’IMBE telles que l’équipe Biomarqueurs, Environnement et Santé pour la valorisation de substances naturelles bioactives.
