The Mediterranean Institute of Biodiversity and Marine and Continental Ecology
IMBE's research is structured around 5 transversal thematic axis and 8 research teams
IMBE organizes its operational facilities around 5 technical departments
Training is, of course, the courses offered at the University (L, M, D) but also training through research (internships).
The dissemination of our scientific results is at the heart of our mission: it enables us to share and make research advances accessible to a wider audience. In addition to publications in specialist journals, the IMBE deploys a wide range of resources to popularise knowledge and make it understandable and attractive to a wide range of audiences. Through concrete actions and innovative tools, we are committed to bringing science closer to everyone, in order to establish an ongoing dialogue between science, research and the general public, especially young people.
I am a PhD student with interests in the application of data analysis to the conservation of ecosystems and their faunas at different spatial scales. My current thesis project focuses on the ecological structure of bird assemblages in the PACA region at the macro-ecological level, with particular emphasis on taxonomic, functional and phylogenetic diversity. It also discusses the influence of climate footprint and land use on the structure of these present and future communities.
My PhD project is co-supervised by Agathe Leriche, Alexandre Millon, Yoann Pinguet at IMBE and by Amine Flitti at LPO PACA association (Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux).

My project aims to enhance the existing "Faune PACA" database, which has been collecting millions of occurrences for over 10 years.
We propose to integrate evolutionary and functional dimensions through a complementary analysis of taxonomic, functional and phylogenetic diversity.
We intend to determine the influence of environmental factors on community composition, assess the relevance of conservation strategies and identify potential future refuge or endangered areas.
