Observatories and experiments
Presentation
In ecology, after a phase of census, observation and theorising, it is important to complete and deepen knowledge by experimental approaches which provide an integrated understanding of the processes governing the impacts of global change and the responses of biodiversity to these changes.
The mission of the Observatories and Experiments Division involves setting up and monitoring experiments under controlled conditions (ex situ, in vitro), modelling and natural environments (in situ) for plant/animal/marine models.
The Observatories and Experiments division relies on scientific and technical staff who are experts in various disciplines to carry out projects that contribute to a better understanding of the dynamics and evolution of biodiversity in the face of global change (global warming, pollution, species invasions, etc.).
