A multi-site unit with an international outlook
IMBE is located on seven geographically distinct metropolitan sites in three cities as well as on overseas territories and abroad:
- In Marseille, the IMBE’s offices are spread across four sites: Étoile Campus – St-Jérôme, Endoume Marine Station, the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy on the Timone campus.
- In Aix-en-Provence, the IMBE is based at the Arbois Technology Park.
- In Avignon, the IMBE is based at the site of’Agroparc, at the Faculty of Science, Technology and Health and at the’IUT (University Institute of Technology).
- In Latin America and the Caribbean, the IMBE is based at the Federal University of Paraíba at the Brazil and at the Caribbean Agro-Environmental Campus in Martinique.
- In West Africa, the IMBE is based at the ISRA/IRD centre in Bel Air, Dakar, at the Senegal.
- In the Pacific, the IMBE is based at the IRD office in Nouméa in New Caledonia and extends his research as far as French Polynesia.
and is working on numerous construction sites in the South the main ones being North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia), Western (Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire) and southern (Namibia) ; at Vietnam and in several regions of Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, the Cerrado in the Goiás region, the University of Campinas (Unicamp) and Jabitcabal in the São Paulo region), driven by research teams through projects and collaborations.
IMBE is also responsible for management of experimental facilities run by the technical centres, such as the O3HP platform (Oak Observatory at the Observatoire de Haute Provence (OHP)) – Observation of the downy oak).
