A structural organisation based on 5 themes

The IMBE is a research unit developing an integrative and interdisciplinary approach to the problems of Biodiversity and Ecology. The major scientific questions studied by the IMBE are structured around 5 themes :

  • Biodiversity (describe biodiversity and how it is organised).
  • Ecosystems (understanding how ecological systems function and characterising their spatial and temporal dynamics).
  • Global change (assessing the effects of global change on biological and ecological systems).
  • One Health (understanding the relationships between biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, global change and human health).
  • Socio-ecological cohabitation (developing nature-based solutions for socio-ecological sustainability).
