The Mediterranean Institute of Biodiversity and Marine and Continental Ecology
IMBE's research is structured around 5 transversal thematic axis and 8 research teams
IMBE organizes its operational facilities around 5 technical departments
Training is, of course, the courses offered at the University (L, M, D) but also training through research (internships).
The dissemination of our scientific results is at the heart of our mission: it enables us to share and make research advances accessible to a wider audience. In addition to publications in specialist journals, the IMBE deploys a wide range of resources to popularise knowledge and make it understandable and attractive to a wide range of audiences. Through concrete actions and innovative tools, we are committed to bringing science closer to everyone, in order to establish an ongoing dialogue between science, research and the general public, especially young people.
My areas of research focus onecology of plant communitiesincluding mechanisms of biotic interactions plants - plants and plants - herbivores as well as vegetation responses to global change (climate change, atmospheric nitrogen deposition, land use change). I also attach great importance to the characterisation and description of plant communities and have been involved in several restoration ecology studies.
My approach focuses oncomment and the monitoring biodiversity and ecosystemsand theexperiment generally in situ and with a biogeographical dimension.
More recently, I have been developing multidisciplinary studies for the characterisation of socio-ecosystemsincluding anthropological and social aspects.
- GLORIA - Mercantour. Monitoring alpine vegetation and characterising the microclimate.
- SAINT-OBS - thesis by L. Leclerc. Mosaics of climatic refuges in the Mediterranean mountains.
- PEYRE - Morocco. Temporal evolution of vegetation in the High Atlas.
- ECOPASTO. Effect of large herbivores for the management and restoration of wet meadows.
- ICCARE - thesis S. Parra. Pastoral socio-ecosystems from Andalusia (Spain).
- M. Aakairi thesis. Socioecosystems of the High Atlas Moroccan.
