I am interested in the continental molluscs of the Mediterranean basin from the Neogene to the present day:

- On the factors involved in the organisation of malacological communities at different spatial and temporal scales: palaeoclimates and speciation; climatic and anthropogenic determinants of species distribution at regional level; the effect of landscape structure and change on the dynamics of malacological communities; dispersal processes; interspecific competition and spatial segregation.

- On the reconstruction of Pleistocene and Holocene Mediterranean palaeoenvironments based on malacological assemblages collected from archaeological sites or sedimentary sequences outside archaeological sites.
