My aim is to describe the temporal dynamics of many species of zooplankton, particularly meroplankton, by weekly monitoring at the SOMLIT point in the Bay of Marseille and at the SSLAMM pump at the Endoume marine station. I identify my planktonic larvae by morphological criteria and by the metabarcoding method on bulk DNA. This will enable us to refine our knowledge of the spawning periods and larval characteristics of many species.

My thesis work will seek to quantify the effect of temperature and acidification on larval traits that are important for the connectivity of benthic species. I will study the two main types of larvae: planktotrophs and lecithitrophs.
This will enable us to predict changes in connectivity by larval dispersal with climate change.

Alongside my own samples, I am processing zooplankton samples from the SOMLIT point, which is a CNRS National Observation Service in the Bay of Marseille (size class, dry weight, etc.).
