Morteza Djamali is a Researcher at French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) working at the Mediterranean Institute for Biodiversity and Ecology since 2011. He obtained an MSc degree in sedimentology from the University of Tehran (2002) and a PhD degree in Population Biology and Ecology from the Aix-Marseille Université (2008). After postdoctoral research at the University of Wyoming (2010) and in the framework of a Franco-Maltese scientific cooperation (2011), he entered in CNRS (2011). His research is focused on Quaternary plant ecology in Southwest Asia and Namibia. He has mainly worked on the role of human activities and the late Quaternary climate change on the vegetation and plant diversity. His main expertise is the pollen analysis but he has been involved in several interdisciplinary projects which combine data obtained from the study of the biological indicators with those obtained through geochemical and sedimentological as well as archaeological investigations.
