Summary of the conference:

Palaeontology, the discipline devoted to the study of fossils, has made a name for itself thanks to the discovery of extraordinary organisms that have populated the Earth over geological time. However, collecting fossils during palaeontological digs is not just of scientific interest. In this talk, our speaker will look at the usefulness of these digs as a whole - from the point of view of a former digger. It will not be a presentation of research results, but a discussion of the place and role of palaeontological practice in society.
