On 4, 5 and 6 November, the MAGELLAN Living Lab and theCoastal research infrastructure (IR ILICO) organised a major event to strengthen research synergies in French Guiana around mangroves and coastlines.
Researchers, managers, associations and decision-makers from French Guiana, France and Germany came together to conferences, practical workshops and field trips, co-constructing Nature-based solutions adapted to the socio-environmental challenges of Guyana's coastline.
On the programme:
Discover the diversity of Benthic crabs and Environmental DNA workshop
Outings in pirogue in the mangroves of Montsinéry-Tonnegrande and Kamuyeneh
Presentation of environmental measurement indicators and methods, drones, satellite imagery and sensors
Discussions with experts, including Marie-Thérèse Prost, a leading figure in coastal research in French Guiana and Brazil
These days provided an opportunity to new collaborations, These rich discussions will now feed into the reflections and future actions of the MAGELLAN Living Lab.
Many thanks to IR ILICO, We'd like to thank the speakers and all the participants for their commitment!
