A big well done to our young graduates!

Three young graduates were honoured at the City of Marseille Thesis Awards.

  • First prize in the Mediterranean theme went to Dr. Marie Grenier (NEMO team) for the excellence and impact of his work on the integrative systematics of bath sponges (family Spongiidae) and the evaluation of their neuropharmacological properties.
  • In the same vein, Dr. Morgane Mauduit (NEMO team) won third prize for her thesis on innovative tools for capturing and characterising the metabolites released into seawater by two Mediterranean sponges: Aplysina cavernicola (Vacelet, 1959) & Agelas oroides (Schmidt, 1864).
  • In the Life and Health Sciences theme, Dr. Rebecca Castel (team HEALTH in collaboration with the LCE) was awarded third prize for its work on the risks of ingestion and genotoxicity of PAHs and metals present in settled dust in nursery schools.

These awards testify to the commitment and quality of the interdisciplinary research carried out at IMBE.

Congratulations to all our winners!
