My research is based on the chemistry of natural substances for authentication and enhancement. Characterisation of complex natural mixtures: volatile compounds (terpene derivatives of essential oils of aromatic plants), lipid fractions (seeds of fatty oil plants), solvent extracts of medicinal plants. The methodological contributions envisaged are based on the optimisation of protocols for obtaining targeted extracts through to the isolation of metabolites and their characterisation, hemisynthesis (obtaining new active ingredients), the determination of anti-oxidant activities, the metabolomics approach which consists of using chromatographic or spectral data and chemometric tools to classify samples or predict their chemical composition. This approach enables the authentication, quality analysis and traceability of natural products through the identification of chemical markers.
