I have taught analytical chemistry (separative methods, spectral methods, electrochemical methods) throughout my teaching career at the IUT in Marseille.

My research interests have focused on the application of analytical chemistry to the study of natural products:

  • plant polysaccharides (exudates, seeds, algae);
  • oilseed products (olives, walnuts, almonds).

The aim of the research into oilseed products is to chemically characterise the varieties studied in order to determine their varietal and geographical origins. The data is used in the search for adulterated agri-food products: olive oil, walnut oil and sweet almond oil (in progress).

Projects in progress:

Chemical characterisation of Provence almond varieties (Ferragnès, Ferraduel, Lauranne, Mandaline...) with a view to creating a PGI (Collaboration Dr Yveline Le dréau, Dr Catherine Rébufa)

Research into old olive varieties in the south of France (France Olive collaboration, Mr Christian Pinatel)

Study of olive oil filtration on new membranes
