The Mediterranean Institute of Biodiversity and Marine and Continental Ecology
IMBE's research is structured around 5 transversal thematic axis and 8 research teams
IMBE organizes its operational facilities around 5 technical departments
Training is, of course, the courses offered at the University (L, M, D) but also training through research (internships).
The dissemination of our scientific results is at the heart of our mission: it enables us to share and make research advances accessible to a wider audience. In addition to publications in specialist journals, the IMBE deploys a wide range of resources to popularise knowledge and make it understandable and attractive to a wide range of audiences. Through concrete actions and innovative tools, we are committed to bringing science closer to everyone, in order to establish an ongoing dialogue between science, research and the general public, especially young people.

With a background in engineering and microbial biotechnology and a PhD in agricultural sciences, my aim is to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms of action of biocontrol and biostimulation products in order to optimise their production and efficacy, and thereby promote their wider integration into an integrated crop protection approach. During my PhD, carried out at INRAE in collaboration with a private company, I focused on the mechanisms of action of bacterial biocontrol agents and the influence of environmental factors on their efficacy against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, the pathogen responsible for sclerotinia stem rot in oilseed rape.
Working at the interface between microbiology, plant pathology and biocontrol, I draw on various approaches involving bacterial fermentation, molecular biology and metabolomics, as well as methods for imaging and the automated quantification of symptoms, from in vitro studies to whole plants.
Cesanne Project 2026–2028
To promote the agroecological transition of the wine-growing sector by developing innovative and sustainable strategies aimed at strengthening the resilience of vines in the face of climate change and the main ones plant pathogens. This approach is based on the integrated use of biostimulants and products from biocontrol, to reduce dependence on conventional inputs whilst maintaining crop health, productivity and the quality of the grapes.
